I spend the majority of my studio time illustrating fashion images when the fashion seasons are in full flow, however I also spend time painting with oils. I have a separate table for illustration, an easel for painting and a big table for making clothes; sewing and embroidery.
My latest cloth project was shorter in length than most. I make a jacket from scratch using existing materials and then embroider it with an array of motifs, mostly on a theme and some stream of consciousness. The latest jacket I made up from an old washed white cotton duvet cover and embroidered with silver and black thread and some embellishments in the way of wide translucent black ribbon and braid. Once finished I took photographs of it and decided to make an artwork of the images; apparel as a medium. This was the result. I’ve decided to make it available as a giclee print so if you’re interested in buying a print, you can purchase one here for £20.
Sending best wishes to all.
