Faction Records in Leegate Shopping Centre, Blackheath. The last day.

The last operational shop in the Leegate Shopping Centre, Faction Records was closing down on 28th September 2024. Below are photos taken from that day.

The Leegate Shopping Centre now defunct and built in 1967, will be knocked down to make way for a 15-storey tower block due for completion by 2030. As of 10th October 2024, planning consent has still not been confirmed by Lewisham council. More information here.

I was visiting the area for the last day of the Museum of NeoLiberalism exhibition and came across this shop at the back of the museum (also poised for demolition). I took these photos using my old Pentax film camera and the owner, his family and were moving the stock out of the shop.
